mParks Leadership Regions connect members across Michigan through localized networking, collaboration, and professional engagement opportunities. Every mParks member is automatically assigned to a Leadership Region based on the county where their agency or organization is located, creating a strong statewide network that reflects the unique needs and strengths of communities throughout Michigan. Participation in a Leadership Region is included with mParks membership.

The regional structure helps foster meaningful connections among parks and recreation professionals who understand the opportunities, challenges, and priorities specific to their geographic area. Through regional engagement, members can build relationships, exchange ideas, share resources, and collaborate on initiatives that strengthen the profession and the communities they serve.
Leadership Regions create opportunities for members to:
  • Build strong professional networks close to home
  • Share local knowledge, ideas, and best practices
  • Collaborate on regional initiatives and events
  • Develop leadership skills through volunteer involvement
  • Strengthen communication and engagement across the Association
  • Connect with peers facing similar operational and community challenges

Find Your Region

Members are assigned to one of seven Leadership Regions based on their agency or organization’s county location

Regional networking helps create a stronger, more connected parks and recreation community throughout Michigan while ensuring that members of all organization sizes and locations have a voice within mParks.

Each Leadership Region maintains representation within the mParks governance structure, including designated participation within standing committees and leadership opportunities throughout the Association. This structure ensures that perspectives from across the state help guide strategic priorities, programs, and member engagement efforts.
Vendor members are welcome to participate in the region that best aligns with their organization’s service area and relationship-building goals.
