What do you enjoy most about working in parks and recreation?
In Parks and Recreation, we have so many unique tools at our disposal to creatively solve problems facing our communities.

How do you stay updated on the latest trends and best practices in parks and recreation?
Participation in mParks professional development opportunities and networking at the various Focus Areas and Regional Group meetings! I get my best ideas from my peers!

Do you have any advice for those aspiring to pursue a career in parks and recreation?
Early in my career, I always made an effort to get involved in areas outside of my specific job duties. If I completed a task early, I always asked my supervisor if I could help with anything else. The new assignments may be challenging, but it is so important to take initiative and broaden your scope of knowledge.

What are your hobbies?
My absolute favorite activity is gardening! I also enjoy baking and reading.

I grew up in Tennessee, then attended graduate school in Indiana, where I lived for 5 years before moving to metro Detroit.
