What's your go-to snack to fuel those energy-packed moments at work? Smart Pop Popcorn
What inspired you to pursue a career in this industry? My love of sports inspired me to start in the field of Parks and Recreation. Being part of something greater than ourselves, contributing to the well-being and happiness of others, and creating a sense of community were all aspects of the profession that made me want to be in the field even more.
How do you stay updated on the latest trends and best practices in parks and recreation? I pay close attention to mParks, NRPA, and Recreation Management magazines. I also find it beneficial to attend networking events and see what other communities are currently going through.
Do you have any advice for those aspiring to pursue a career in parks and recreation? Network, network, network. There are so many people out there doing amazing things that we can all learn from each other. Building strong professional relationships not only gives us a different prospective but also opens doors to collaboration and innovation. And never be afraid to call someone in the profession. We are all here to help! Plus, it is nice to know others in the profession are going through some of the same challenges you are.

What are your hobbies? I have a passion for golfing, spending time with friends and family, and playing video games online with other Parks and Recreation professionals. At this point in my life, they are huge stress relievers. Plus, it helps me build stronger relationships, both personally and professionally.
Tell us something about yourself others might not know. Out of college I was an announcer for the New York Yankees minor league baseball team in Battle Creek, MI. After realizing all the travel it would require, I decided to change paths. I do like to talk on a microphone from time to time to live out that dream once in a while.
