Cost: $25 for mParks Members

The first 3-hours presented by Hector Hernandez will provide participants with knowledge on the following topics:
  1. Communicating with dog owners
  2. Mistakes with dog encounters
  3. Understanding dog body language
  4. Decompressing a dog who is nervous or stressed
  5. Defensive tactics (to be applied as appropriate for our park rules, job expectations and review by risk management)
    • Defending yourself
    • Surviving an attack
    • Witnessing an attack
    • Breaking up a dog fight
    Participants are welcome to stay for the 11:00-11:30 session where Oakland County NR Staff will review procedures for dealing with Eastern Massasauga Rattlesnakes.
