Polly Products Green Gift

mParks green gift program logoOVERVIEWPolly Products
The Green Gift program is an environmentally-friendly alternative to providing gifts for mParks Conference attendees. Instead of handing out portfolios, tote bags or other small gifts which are soon forgotten after conference, mParks strives to provide a lasting impact by donating those gift funds instead to an environmentally-focused project submitted by a member agency.

BACKGROUND
This program was developed by the 2013 Conference Committee to lessen negative environmental impacts, to encourage innovative "green" initiatives for park and recreation facilities and programs and to give back to agency members. mParks strives to be an environmentally-responsible organization by advocating for environmental protection, providing educational opportunities, and conserving resources wherever possible.

Program Description

The Green Gift program is an environmentally-friendly alternative to providing gifts for mParks Conference attendees. Instead of handing out portfolios, tote bags or other small gifts which are soon forgotten after conference, mParks strives to provide a lasting impact by donating those gift funds instead to an environmentally-focused project submitted by a member agency. This year's Green Gift will to be utilized to encourage reduce/reuse/recycle in any form at your facility.

The goal of the Green Gift is to implement more "green" projects and/or programs around the state with a focus on recycling. Funding can be used for a wide variety of projects or programs that meet at least one of the following criteria:

  • create or improve an existing recycling or waste-reduction program or system
  • integrate the use of recycled materials in a project
  • create an educational or outreach program on the benefits of recycling.

Preference will be given to special events that incorporate recycling and feature environmentally friendly aspects.
Funds will be released upon successful completion of the project.
