Camp Kitigin: Summer camp for adults

September 16 - 18, 2016

Disconnect from the pressures of life, reconnect with nature, and discover your inner child with a screen-free weekend up north, filled with old-school fun and friendship. That means no smartphones, no tablets, no laptops, no wi-fi. (With exceptions for emergencies or after-dinner family check-ins if needed.) We will instead provide participants with journals and disposable cameras to get back to the way we used to experience recreation!

Designed for both men and women, campers will be assigned to cabins - but don't worry, we encourage late-night shenanigans, that's what summer camp is all about!

Registration cost is $200 per person, including accommodations, activities, and meals.

Why Camp Kitigin?

Read what AAA Magazine had to say about Camp Kitigin!

In today's fast-paced world, it's easy to get overwhelmed and neglect our basic needs for connecting with nature and with others, so Camp Kitigin is a way for adults to rejuvenate and focus on what really matters - our health and well-being!

  • 60% of people experience health problems related to the use of technology or sitting at a desk (headaches, eye strain, neck and back pain, wrist pain, insomnia)
  • University of Kansas study found a 50% boost in creativity for people who were steeped in nature for a few days
  • The average American spends 87% of time in enclosed buildings and 6% in enclosed vehicles...that's 94% of your life spent indoors, with less fresh air and increased exposure to concentrated pollutants (2-5x higher than the outdoors).
  • Spending time outdoors increases exposure to Vitamin D (up to 85% of Americans are Vitamin D deficient), and also provides pain relief, enhanced sleep quality, and less functional decline.
  • Social and emotional support from others (like the team-building activities at Camp Kitigin) can increase mental health and even influence healthy behaviors like fruit & vegetable consumption, exercising, and smoking cessation.
  • Summer camp helps participants gain self-confidence, learn skills, discover new interests, and build relationships. We’re inviting adults to get in on these valuable benefits!
