Video Series: Active Living Through Parks

The Active Living Through Parks program is designed to demonstrate that Michigan's parks and recreation centers are the perfect place to be active and healthy. 


Silver Beach Park, Saint Joseph (Berrien County Parks)

This video was filmed on the shores of Lake Michigan at the Silver Beach County Park in Saint Joseph, part of Berrien County Parks. This video, filmed on the grounds outside the Butzel Family Center in the City of Detroit, demonstrates how groups of all ages can get outside and walk together for a healthier lifestyle. Staying active doesn't have to be complicated, and laying a foundation of active living reaps health benefits long down the road. Chippewa Landing - Caro

At Chippewa Landing park in the City of Caro, Recreation Programmer Stephanie Wirtz of the Michigan Department of Natural Resources talks about geocaching, and how this family-friendly activity gets everyone outdoors and active - part nature walk part scavenger hunt, geocaching has something for everyone. Muskegon State Park
