The process for developing new branding and identity for Michigan Recreation and Park Association (Formerly "MRPA") began in the fall of 2014 at the Strategic Planning Board Retreat. The development of an integrated marketing strategy for mParks was identified as an operational priority at the retreat, and an Integrated Marketing Ad Hoc Committee was formed to begin the process.
Through good fortune and cultivating relationships, mParks leadership connected with Mark Lantz from Factory Detroit, whose past work includes the “Pure Michigan” campaign. Mark and his team guided the Integrated Marketing Ad Hoc Committee through the process. mParks is humbled that Mark and the Factory team developed the entire campaign, and that any production costs were funded by an extremely generous donation from Past President Vic Chiasson, who capably led the committee.

With the New Look, a New Tune!
On Wednesday, July 8, 2015 mParks unveiled its new logo and brand identity at Come Out and Play, our annual advocacy and outdoor education event at the Capitol in Lansing. Along with the new brand identity, mParks worked with recording artist Taylor Taylor, Factory Detroit, and Yessian Music to produce our first-ever theme song, aptly titled "Come Out and Play." It's a catchy tune with a message we believe in. Give it a listen!
